The ACT Ecolabel audit is a remote, collaborative process that typically takes 2 to 6 months and includes structured guidance for product and operational improvement.
Step 1: kickoff data collection and desktop audit
Verico, our independent auditor, leads the certification process with a structured review of environmental data related to your product, packaging, and operations.
Step 2: scoring label creation and impact reporting
My Green Lab and Verico use the submitted data to calculate scores, generate your ACT Ecolabel, and provide a feedback report with improvement suggestions.
Step 3: certification label publication and launch
Once the label is finalized, My Green Lab publishes it in the ACT Ecolabel database and provides marketing support to increase visibility and buyer engagement.
Step 4: ongoing support maintenance and recertification
Certified products undergo a marketing launch of labels with My Green Lab, and a 2-year surveillance.
ACT Ecolabel 2.0: what manufacturers should know
ACT Ecolabel 2.0 was developed in collaboration with manufacturers, sustainability experts, procurement professionals, and scientists. Updates were designed to meet evolving needs across product development and purchasing, including:
- Stronger scoring and visual communication
- Alignment with global regulations and zero carbon targets
- Expanded carbon footprint reporting and GHG considerations
- Improved scoring across packaging, manufacturing, and end-of-life
The ACT Ecolabel currently certifies lab equipment, consumables, and chemicals/reagents, with category-specific criteria and weighting. All assessments are third-party verified by Verico and published by My Green Lab.
Certification is not just about achieving a label. It’s a tool that helps manufacturers continuously improve and strengthen their sustainability story across departments—from product design and operations to sales and marketing.
